A group of individuals with common experiences or concerns who provide each other with encouragement, comfort, and advice.

Community Tools Training

PAX Tools Community Workshops for parents, caregivers, and other caring adults in their own community.  PAX Tools extends nurturing environments beyond the classroom, empowering adults throughout the community to improve young people’s behavior and relationships with the use of Evidence-based Kernels. 

 

Chenango Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (CSAPC)

The mission of the Coalition is to bring individuals and organizations together to promote a clean, safe, and addiction-free community.

Community Based Education Services

The purpose of community learning and development is to develop the capacity of individuals and groups of all ages through their actions, the capacity of communities, promote learning and to improve their quality of life.

Community Health Advocate

Community Health Advocates assist with a wide range of health related issues from finding a health care provider to understanding medical bills. Community Service Society of New York and the NYS Department of Health Office of Rural Health fund this program.

Financial Assistance for Cancer Patients

Financial Assistance Program assists Chenango County women when they are diagnosed with breast or gynecological cancer and cannot afford treatment. St. Agatha Foundation, NYS Department of Health Office of Rural Health, Chenango United Way, and local contributions fund this program

Health Insurance Assistance

The Health Insurance Assistance Program uses Navigators to help people enroll for health insurance though the NY State of Health: The Official Health Plan Marketplace. Community Service Society of New York and the NYS Department of Health Office of Rural Health fund this program.

Prescription Assistance

Prescription Assistance Program helps Chenango County residents to get medicines they need for long term if they are uninsured and cannot afford to buy their prescription drugs. NYS Department of Health Office of Rural Health and Chenango United Way fund this program.

Youth, Adult, Fire & EMS Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents. The program builds understanding of the importance of early detection and intervention.
