Tobacco Free Chenango is part of the Tobacco Free Zone of Cortland Tompkins and Chenango Counties.  We work to foster environments supportive of policies that reinforce the tobacco-free norm in our communities.  Through community engagement and youth action (Reality Check), we promote local changes that reduce the impact of tobacco and nicotine addiction, including:
- Reduce the impact of retail tobacco marketing on youth & adults, especially disparately-affected populations
- Increase the availability of tobacco-free outdoor shared environments
- Increase the availability of smoke-free multi-unit housing
- Reduce tobacco imagery in youth-rated movies
Reality check is a youth led movement in NYS that empowers youth to become leaders in their communities in exposing what they see as the manipulative and deceptive marketing tactics of the tobacco industry.  The organization's members produce change in their communities through grassroots mobilization and education.
